What we collect

• Your account. Your email address if you sign in with a magic link, or your name, email, and profile photo if you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple.
• Readers you add. A first name and birth year (month optional) for each kid, entered by you. We use it only to tailor age guidance. We never ask for more than that.
• Books you look up. Scans and searches, so we can show you your history and surface what families are looking up in aggregate.
• Library search. If you search for a nearby library, the address you type is sent to a library directory service to find matches. We don't store your address.

How we use it

To run CapaCapa: signing you in, remembering your family's readers and libraries, tailoring age guidance, and understanding which features help parents most. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who else sees anything

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used (pages viewed, features tapped). See Google's privacy policy.
• Email delivery. Magic-link sign-in emails go out through a transactional email provider.
• AI analysis. Report cards are generated by sending book information (title, author, publisher description, community tags) to an AI provider. Nothing about you or your kids is included.
• Book data. Titles, covers, and lists come from sources like Google Books and The New York Times. Those requests are about books, not about you.

About kids

CapaCapa is built for parents and isn't directed at children under 13. Reader profiles are created by you, kept to the minimum needed for age guidance, and you can edit or delete them anytime from My family.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms, plus Google Analytics cookies for the usage stats above. No ad-tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can use CapaCapa without an account at all — scanning and searching work signed out. If you have an account and want it deleted, email [email protected] and we'll remove it along with your readers and history.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and note it here.
