A note for parents
This anthology of myth retellings by acclaimed authors offers sophisticated literary content that explores universal themes of identity, power, and transformation. While the stories vary in tone and complexity, the collection includes some violence inherent to mythological content and occasional mature themes; this is best suited to older middle-grade or teen readers who can engage with nuance. The LGBTQ representation and diverse cultural perspectives make it educationally valuable, and the overall emphasis is on reclaiming and reinterpreting myths with fresh perspectives.
