A note for parents

This is a thoughtful 1970s science fiction novel exploring identity and power in a dystopian police state, suitable for older teens interested in philosophical sci-fi. While not graphically violent, the oppressive atmosphere, existential dread, and mature themes require emotional maturity to process. The book rewards critical thinking about surveillance, identity, and personal agency rather than offering simple escapism.
