A note for parents
This graphic novel adaptation of Sabaa Tahir's fantasy world presents a coming-of-age story set in a militaristic empire where sibling protagonists navigate danger and responsibility. The story emphasizes courage, family loyalty, and standing up against oppressive systems, with moderate action and some darker themes around illness and totalitarian control. The graphic format makes violence and scary elements more visually present than in text, but nothing is gratuitously graphic.
